Question about bad racks

Postby tonygee » Mon Mar 21, 2005 11:32 am

This question is directed to NEBA Officials.

I was wondering if during match play one discovers the racks to be consistently off can one request a lane change. Thanks

Not an official.. but why not just use a re-rack? In a Match, at least both you and your opponent have the same obstacle in that situation, and the player who uses re-racks may come out on top. Lane 1 had a horrible rack (6-10 was packed together and 6 pin too far back) as well as Lane 28 (the 3-9 was spaced way away from the 1-5) and could not strike on pocket hits on those two lanes, even with re-racking. That's bowling.

Reracking would not help. The pins were just placed off the mark rack after rack

i see what tony is saying. if it is a righty/lefty match, a bad rack could favor one or the other bowler. i do not think you can ask for a new pair. they wont let you switch pairs because the shot seems funky so a funky rack doesn't seem like a good reason to switch either. just my opinion.
