Aguiar Hits 20 with 3rd Invitational Win

Alex Aguiar became the second bowler in NEBA's 55 year history to win 20 titles with is third win at the Cambridge Credit Counseling Invitational. Alex also won the invitational in 2009 and 2012. The 38 year-old won in a convincing fashion leading the 5 game block with 1244 then also leading after the 2 game eliminator to gain the important #1 seed. The high seed in match play had to get beaten twice to get knocked out. Alex defeated Derek Hamm (247-222), John Kirker (203/235-227/191) and a one pin victory over Joe Scianna (244/215-248/214) to earn a spot in the championship match against Strike F/X partner Jon Van Hees. Alex coasted to his 20th win with a 233-189 victory to take home $3,000 and a paid entry into the Brunswick Tournament of Champions. As always, a special thank you to Cambridge Credit Counseling for sponsoring this event. Their $3,500 plus $1 for every entry last year added $7,530 to the prize fund.
