Anthony Pepe wins title # 9 at the Savage Arms Open

Anthony Pepe won the Savage Arms open for his 9th NEBA title. The lefty started his day at AMF Chicopee Lanes by shooting games of 246, 266, 168, 234 and 279 for 1193 and a spot in match play. Pepe received a one round bye as the #6 seed then defeated Rich Brooks 210-205, Nathan Roback 223-168, Michael Lichstein 228-212 and Keith Laing 279-179 in the semi finals to advance to the semi-finals against 12-time champion Jon Van Hees. Pepe led the championship match at the start while Jon was filling frames with spares. After Pepe split, Jon took the lead in the 8th frame.  Pepe got up first to finish the match and struck in the 9th then doubled in the 10th to secure the victory 213-195. He won $1,330 and a paid entry into the Brunswick Tournament of Champions for his win while Jon won $840.  Thank you to Savage Arms for their support of the event and AMF Chicopee Lanes and their staff for hosting.

We have a big 3-day weekend coming in in two weeks in New Hampshire with $2,000 added over the weekend by Yankee Lanes! Friday, August 3rd is golf and dinner. Saturday August 4th is the Yankee Lanes Doubles with $1,000 added plus a Texas Hold'em game and social at night. Sunday, August 5th is the $1,000 added Yankee Lanes Singles.
