Chris Monroy picks up NEBA Title # 8 with a win at the Yankee Lanes Singles event on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Yankee Lanes in Keene, NH.

We had 132 bowlers, with 32 making the Eliminator Style Match-play on a 48-foot Challenge pattern. In Round (1) of match-play, we had all 32 bowlers compete with a cut score of 201 for the top 16 advancing to Round (2). During round two of match-play, we did have an excellent 300 game by Chris Sole, who went with the other bowlers above the cut score of 228 to advance to Round (3).  As competition is still intense in this round, we see the cut score of 204 to go to the semi-finals of Round (4), where we saw a shootout between Matthew Brocket and Chris Monroy to bring the cut score of the semi-final matches to 243. Now facing off in the Championship match, Chris Monroy executed a few key shots to defeat Matthew Brockett 236 to 214 to pick up his 8th Neba title.

We want to thank Jeff Barden, Keith Coll, and the staff of Yankee Lanes for hosting us this weekend, for your continued support of NEBA, the sport of bowling, and for adding $1,000 to the prize fund.
