  • Sun, June 18, 2023

Danny Khuu captured his first NEBA title, winning the GMS Decorative Concrete Doubles with now 4-time NEBA Champion Joe Scianna at Bowler Cranston in Cranston, RI. We had 54 teams compete in qualifying for the top 12 teams to advance into single-game match-play finals.

Danny Khuu and Joe Scianna qualified 7th with a total score of 2399. As they missed the one-game bye, they took on. They defeated the team of TJ Souza and Jim Ferguson 491 to 410, advancing them to bowl the number 2 seed team of Tony Reynaud and Alex Aguiar and defeating them 428 to 387, now moving on into the semi-finals against the number 11 seed of Darrel Guertin and Paul Smith, whom they defeated 451 to 429. Advancing to the finals against the number 5 seed team of Tim Elsass and Frankie Calca, this was a tight match thru 8 frames where Danny Khuu and Joe Scianna won the title 453 to 417.

We want to thank Clay Swartz and GMS Decorative Concrete for their continued support of NEBA and for adding $1,000 to today’s prize fund.

Our next event will be July 29-30 for Yankee Lanes Keene, NH weekend, with the Golf Event on Friday, July 28th, then we have the Keene Doubles on Saturday and Keene Singles on Sunday.
