FLAMAND CLAIMS FIFTH NEBA TITLE AT JOPO GRIPS SPECIAL CUTS
JoPo Grips Special Cuts – Women’s, Senior’s and Super Senior’s Singles
Bowlero Worcester – April 11, 2026
Event #1059
47 Entries | 12 Match Play Finalists
Pattern: Broadway V2 (37’, 26.45 mL, 4.77:1)

The 2026 JoPo Grips Special Cuts event brought a competitive and diverse field to Bowlero Worcester, featuring top senior, super senior, and women competitors competing on the Broadway V2 lane pattern.

With its shorter 37-foot length, the pattern rewarded players who could control the front of the lane while maintaining consistency downlane. As transition developed, shot-making and spare shooting became increasingly important.

At the end of the event, Greg Flamand emerged victorious, capturing the title with a strong and consistent performance throughout qualifying and match play.

MATCH PLAY BREAKDOWN

The top 12 competitors advanced into the match play bracket.

Greg Flamand’s Road to the Championship:
Round 1: def. Brian Gaskill, 245-206
Quarterfinals: def. Mark Bouchard, 181-153
Semifinals: def. Darryl Washington, 267-204
Championship Match: def. Robert Greene Jr., 202-185

Flamand showed excellent control and composure throughout match play, staying ahead of lane transition and applying pressure in key moments.

Robert Greene Jr. advanced to the finals after a strong performance that included a 300 game earlier in match play.

CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH RECAP

The championship match featured two experienced competitors. Greg Flamand entered following a 267 semifinal performance, while Robert Greene Jr. had already demonstrated high scoring ability with a 300 game earlier in match play.

Both players opened the match consistently through the first three frames. The turning point came in the fourth frame when Greene left a 7-10 split, limiting his scoring opportunity.

Flamand capitalized by building a string of strikes to take control of the match. Greene remained clean but was unable to generate enough consecutive strikes to apply pressure.

Flamand briefly left the door open with an open frame but responded by converting a difficult spare and maintaining his lead.

He secured the victory with a strike in the ninth frame and closed out the match to capture the title.

With the win, Greg Flamand earns his fifth NEBA title.
