Kingstown Bowl – November 15, 2025
122 Entries | 32 Match Play Finalists | Pattern: Broadway V2 (37’, 4.77:1, 26.45 mL)
The 2025 NEBA season continued at Kingstown Bowl with the seasons last non-champions event — the Kingstown Bowl Non-Champions, presented by Ideal Bowling Concepts.
With 122 entries, a challenging medium-short pattern, and a long list of hungry competitors seeking their breakthrough title, the stage was set for a dramatic finish.
When the dust settled, Julian F. Horan delivered a dominant performance, earning his first career NEBA title, outlasting a talented field and closing the championship match with authority.
Match Play Breakdown
32 bowlers advanced to single elimination match play, with the field cut in half each round until only two remained.
From the very first game, the scoring pace was high — but Julian Horan quickly emerged as the player to beat.

Round of 8: 268 def. Sean Richard(213)
Semifinals: 202 def. Tommy Kumlin(202)

- Tommy Kumlin reached the semifinals with a stellar showing, including a 222, 239, and 188 victories before falling to the eventual champion with 202.
- Jesse Gibson put together one of his strongest match-play runs of the season, advancing to the final four with scores of 213, 208, and 269 with a 184 ending his run against Tim Giguere.
Championship Match Recap – Horan vs. Giguere
The final match featured two players in peak form. Giguere entered the title match as the event’s most explosive scorer, but Horan was riding a wave of consistency and high scores in match-play.
The battle of the Purple Hammers began with an error and open frame from Tim Giguere while Julian Horan opened with a double. Tim would step back onto the lane for redemption, seeing his first strike but would follow this with a single pin spare. Horan added to his strike run to connect for all ten through the first four frames. Closing up the first half of the match, Giguere struck once more on the right lane but would follow this with another missed single pin. Julian showed no remorse and despite a single pin leave in the fifth, a strike would give him a commanding 52-pin lead heading into the latter half of the match.
Another open from Giguere would allow Julian to keep the swing loose and the shot making to a premium. Horan stepped up to throw yet another pair of strikes to culminate into a triple leading into the final frames. Tim would present a triple of his own but would prove to be too little, too late as Julian’s dominance separated the pair. Formality is all that was in the way from Horan accepting his first title. With his final pitch down the middle, Julian Horan became our newest competitor to earn his stripes and can now call himself a NEBA champion!
Final Score:
Julian F. Horan – 258
Tim Giguere – 205
With the victory, Horan becomes the newest addition to NEBA’s growing list of first-time champions and sealed his way into the SPI Tournament of Champions.
